IT WAS a memorable day for former Kelana Jaya MP Loh Seng Kok and Subang Jaya assemblyman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng when both of them were treated to an informal dinner by the Kelana Jaya and Subang Jaya resident groups.
Organiser of the event, USJ Residents Association (USJRA) honorary secretary Eileen Cheah, said it was a simple gathering in appreciation of the hardworking and dedicated duo.
“Although both of them are no longer in active service, during their tenure they did their best to contribute to the community and establish good rapport with everyone,” said Cheah.

Some 77 guests attended the event that was held at the Emperor Restaurant at the Sheraton Subang Hotel & Towers.
In his speech, Loh thanked everyone for the dinner and said he was touched by the gesture.
“I am thankful for the opportunity given to me to serve as an MP and wish to state that I will always be here as and when my services are required,” he said.
Lee also expressed his appreciation and said he was happy to have had the opportunity to serve the community. He also added that now with some free time in his hands, he would be able to indulge in one of his favourite pastimes, catching squids in Terengganu.
Later some friends presented souvenirs to Loh and Lee.
Loh received a watercolour painting and Lee was given a sandpainting from China.
