More age group bowling contests
THE Petaling District Tenpin Bowling Association (PDTBA), as part of their development programmes, will be organising more age group competitions.
PDTBA president Loh Seng Kok made the announcement at the prize-giving ceremony of the Milo-Petaling District Primary Schools inter-team bowling championships at the Pyramid Megalanes recently.
“The inter-team championships was a big success. We are encouraged by the response.

“We had limited participation to 30 teams but about 40 teams signed up for the competition. The encouraging response and interest shows that there is a need to have more age group competitions,’’ said Loh.
A total of 120 players took part in the half-day championships.
SK Subang Jaya emerged as the champions with 1,270 pinfalls while SK SS19 and SK Assunta were second and third with 1,250 and 844 pinfalls respectively.
Aida Munirah from SK Subang Jaya was the individual winner in the girls’ category for the high game with a score of 178 while her teammate Inderjit Singh won the boys’ category with 157.
The competitions lined up are the Under-15 schools inter-team championships as well as an Under-18 junior league. The PDTBA will also be organising the Merdeka-Unity bowling championships in August.
Loh said the Merdeka-Unity bowling championships was initiated in conjunction with the National Day celebrations.
