THE Petaling District Tenpin Bowling Association (PDTBA), in keeping up
with the Merdeka celebrations, will be organising the Merdeka Unity
Junior Bowling carnival at the Pyramid Megalanes on Aug 3.
The association has also roped in SportsUnite and Milo as partners for
the 32 teams ?20 from secondary schools and 12 from primary schools.
Each team must have four students, comprising at least two races, from
the same school.
PDTBA president Loh Seng Kok said they were grateful to Milo and
SportsUnite for supporting the event held in conjunction with the
Merdeka celebrations.
“The bowling carnival is an ideal and meaningful way to celebrate
Merdeka.
“This is the fourth year we are organising the carnival. The past three
events were well received by parents as well as students.
“We had to restrict the number of teams due to logistic reasons.
We urge parents to encourage their children to register early to avoid
disappointment,’’ said Loh after receiving the sponsorship from Milo and
SportsUnite.
SportsUnite executive director Datuk Dina Rizal said they were looking
forward to yet another encouraging response for this multi-racial event.
“The carnival has been a big success for the past three years.
“The objective of this event is to promote good values, develop
competitive skills and celebrate the spirit of unity on this special
day,” Dina added.
Nestle Products sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong said they shared
the same vision as SportsUnite and the association in nurturing young
players and promoting unity.
“The championships provide aspiring players with a platform to prove
themselves.
“We will be happy if one of the players moves on to represent the state
or the national team,” said Ng.
